Annie’s Cottage is a one bedroom chocolate box style cottage on two levels, with lots of charm and character. With an Inglenook fireplace, deep set windows and beams in the sitting room, sloping ceiling in the bedroom and exposed flint walls throughout, the whole cottage just feels really special. Being situated on a country road and hidden from view, the front of the property is like an oasis, secluded and surrounded by trees and shrubbery with a peaceful feel, and with guaranteed parking outside the cottage or in the court yard, it feels like a relaxing retreat.
The cottage can accommodate up to 3 guests in the bedroom, with an additional portable bed which is perfect for small families, and there is also a bed settee in the sitting room for extra guests.
The fully fitted characterful kitchen is perfect for a short or long stay, with granite style work surfaces, a sink, electric hob, fan oven and grill, a microwave, toaster, a fridge with an icebox and a washing machine/tumble dryer.
The lovingly refurbished ground floor bathroom has a shower over the top which is remotely controlled, so you can select the temperature and pressure even before you get in. However, if you prefer a bath, there is lovely smelling bubble bath as well as a really bubbly bubble bath, and a family of ducks to play with! And with the subdued lighting surrounding the large mirror above the sink, you just have to relax. The bathroom is usefully situated between the upstairs bedroom and the downstairs sitting room, which is great if you have additional guests.
The upstairs bedroom has a romantic feel with sloping ceilings and bay windows. The king size bed with a super king size duvet and generous walk in wardrobe, gives this surprisingly large and characterful bedroom a feel of luxury. There is also a double socket with a usb port for guests to be able to re-charge their phones easily.
And finally, the sheltered seating area outside the front of the cottage catches the sun from late morning till late afternoon. Just perfect for alfresco dining or relaxing whilst watching the wildlife. The robin who occasionally makes her nest in the letterbox next to the front door and seating area, seems quite happy for guests to sit there or use the front door. However, she doesn’t like sharing the letter box with postman, so he has to find somewhere else to put the letters!
