Annie’s Cottage is a charming characterful cottage, with many original features including exposed flint walls, beams and a large inglenook fireplace. This one bedroom cottage which is able to sleep between 2 and 4 guests, was originally the cottage of the servant Annie at Manston Court. The large secluded garden area to the front of Manston Court, can be enjoyed whilst sitting in the lovely seating area outside the cottage. However, this seating area has to be moved each spring, due to a lovely robin who decided a couple of years ago to make her next in the letter box next to the front door. The seating area is then moved to in front of the windows where you can get a lovely view of her building her nest and then feeding her young. She seems quite happy for guests to use the front door, but doesn't like sharing the letter box with postman, so he has to find somewhere else to put the letters! This lovely sun trapped area is perfect to enjoy alfresco dining, or just watching the wild life.
The sitting room oozes character with walls that are 3 foot thick, deep set windows, an inglenook fireplace and original bakers oven and beams The chaise lounge in this characterful room converts into a double sofa bed, allowing the flexibility of additional guests. It's so easy to relax in this lovely room whilst listening to music, watching television or enjoying a leisurely evening meal with friends and family.
At the end of the kitchen there is an imposing historic flint wall. And the kitchen looks even better now with the new granite type work surface and new sink. With an electric hob, fan oven and grill, microwave, toaster, fridge with ice box, and washing machine/tumble dryer, this lovely room is perfectly equipped for you to stay as long as you like.
The ground floor bathroom has a bath with a shower over the top, and is perfectly situated between the upstairs bedroom and the downstairs sitting room, allowing guests easy access from either area.
The bedroom is quirky and romantic, with sloping ceilings and bay windows. The comfortable king size zip link bed and generously sized walk in wardrobe, gives this characterful and spacious bedroom a feel of luxury.
And finally being able to park outside the cottage or in the spacious private courtyard, and in the summer under the lovely cool shade of the tall trees opposite, simply adds to the pleasure and ease of staying in this chocolate box style cottage.
And to help you enjoy your stay, tea and coffee are provided to refresh you after your journey. But for those staying a week or more, an additional welcome pack is provided in each property. And at Christmas we even decorate the cottage before you arrive, to help you enjoy that lovely Christmassy feel.
